A look at the kinds of studio, lighting, sound and workflow problems we are asked to help solve.
Areas of work we are brought in to resolve
These entries describe the type of problem and the approach taken in each area of our practice. They show how we work and what we look at first, rather than listing particular clients.
Studio floor plan and cable routing review
Walking the floor with the facilities team, we map camera positions against cable runs and power. The aim is a layout that reduces trip hazards and shortens reset time between programmes.

Control room placement for a multi-camera studio
We assess sightlines, equipment racks and how crews move between gallery and floor. Recommendations focus on communication, cooling and room for operators to work comfortably through long shifts.

Camera shading setup for a multi-camera show
We review how cameras are configured and matched, and where the vision engineer's workflow slows down. Advice covers settings, signal paths and a consistent starting point for each recording day.

Lighting plan for a talk and panel format
A plan built around faces, background depth and fixture heights the ceiling allows. We balance look against rigging effort so a small crew can reset the set between formats.

Audio chain review for a live studio programme
We trace the signal from microphone to output, checking gain structure, monitoring and routing of talkback. Findings point to where noise or delay creeps in and how to remove it.

Workflow review for a live event broadcast
We map signal flow, comms and crew roles from rehearsal to show. The written review marks where responsibilities overlap or fall between teams, and proposes clearer handovers.
